Alicia Cámara ha participado en el XXI Congreso Nacional de Historia del Arte, como ponente en la Mesa sobre Oficios y gremios, con una relación sobre «Dibujo y secreto en el gobierno de la monarquía hispánica. La profesión de ingeniero en los siglos XVI y XVII»

The need for drawings and secrecy as a tool for power during the 16th and 17th centuries is analyzed here with the use of brand new documentation, in a reflection of how the role of engineer came to be. With military, architectural and scientific backgrounds among others, engineers are characterized by the use of drawings, which made a significant mark on the world of war and of military and political architecture. Likewise, secrecy served to guide their actions and kept their drawings far from the printing press.
